Ducks Lead Wire-to-Wire in Win at Arizona

Ruthy Hebard posted her eighth double-double of the season in the win at Arizona.
TUCSON, Ariz. – The Oregon women's basketball team led Arizona from start to finish, winning 79-65 on Friday night at the McKale Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Oregon started the game on a 7-0 run before Arizona scored its first points of the game with 5:44 left in the first quarter. At the end of the first, Ruthy Hebard had a game-high eight points while Maite Cazorla had seven.
Arizona didn't go away, however, as the Wildcats opened the second quarter on an 8-0 run before a Justine Hall jumper with 6:20 to go before halftime. The Ducks bounced back and outscored the Wildcats 18-7 to take a 38-25 lead into halftime. Arizona ended the second quarter going 1-of-9 from the field. Hebard and Lexi Bando led the Ducks with 12 points at the half while Cazorla had 10. Hebard also had eight rebounds in the first half, nearly giving her a double-double in the first 20 minutes.
The Ducks kept the pressure on in the second half. Oregon led by as much as 19 points in the third quarter and the Ducks' lead was never less than 10 for the rest of the game.
STAT SHEET: Ruthy Hebard finished with her eighth double-double of the season with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Hebard, who entered the game seventh in the nation in field goal percentage, went 9-of-10 from the field and 4-of-5 at the line. Lexi Bando added 16 points while Maite Cazorla had 12 points. Justine Hall came off the bench to score 11 points, including three three-pointers.
STANDINGS: The Ducks are now alone in sixth in the Pac-12 standings at 5-6 in conference play.
UP NEXT: The Ducks head up the road to meet No. 23 ranked Arizona State on Sunday.
