The Oregon softball team will play host to rival Washington for a three-game Pac-12 series starting Thursday at Jane Sanders Stadium.
EUGENE, Ore. - The No. 4 ranked Oregon softball team will play host to rival Washington for a three-game Pac-12 series starting Thursday at Jane Sanders Stadium.
#4 OREGON DUCKS (36-2, 9-2 Pac-12)

Notable: The Ducks started the season 35-0 before falling twice at UCLA last weekend. The No. 4 ranked Ducks rebounded with an 11-4 win in the series finale vs. the Bruins. Oregon ranks third in the NCAA with a team 1.12 ERA. Individually, freshman RHP Maggie Balint ranks seventh in the nation with a 0.78 ERA while sophomore Megan Kleist is 21st with a 1.19 ERA. Offensively, the Ducks rank seventh in the nation with a .344 batting average and sixth with a .441 on-base percentage. The Ducks are averaging 6.92 runs per game, good for sixth in the NCAA. Leadoff hitter Alexis Mack's .451 batting average is 14th in the nation.

Notable: After getting swept at Arizona and dropping 2-of-3 against UCLA, the Huskies took 2-of-3 from Oregon State last weekend in Seattle. The Huskies tallied some big non-conference wins, including 2-1 over then-No. 2 ranked Auburn and 1-0 over then-No. 1 Oklahoma. Offensively, the Huskies rank 11th in the NCAA with a .336 team batting average but UW ranks 64th in the country with a 2.61 team ERA. Washingtin is eighth in the country with a .523 slugging percentage, behind only Arizona in the Pac-12. Casey Stangel and Morganne Flores are tied for sixth in the Pac-12 with nine home runs each.

BEST START TO A SEASON IN NCAA HISTORY
Oregon started the season with a 35-0 record and was the last undefeated team in the nation. The 35 wins to start a season tied the NCAA record, also reached by UCLA in 1999.
LONGEST WINNING STREAK
With an 8-2 victory against Stephen F. Austin at the Mizzou Tournament, the Ducks set a new program record for consuective wins with 19. The Ducks went on to shatter the record with wins in 35 straight games. Oregon won 18 straight games last season, which matched the previous record. The Ducks also won 18 straight games in 2007.
WHEN PLAYING WASHINGTON
- Washington leads the all-time series, 51-24, but the Ducks have won 12 of the last 15 meetings.
- Mike White is 13-7 all-time against Washington.
- The Ducks swept the three-game series last season in Seattle. Oregon topped No. 8 Washington 7-2 in the first game, 11-6 in the second game and 16-4 (6) in the third game. Gwen Svekis belted three homers in the series and drove in nine runs. Nikki Udria hit .500 in the series.
