Ducks' bats quiet in Civil War loss

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon managed just one run on two hits in a 4-1 non-conference loss to No. 1 Oregon State on Tuesday at Goss Stadium.
How It Happened: Jordan Britton (1-0) got the win pitching 5.2 innings, giving up one earned run on two hits with two strikeouts and a walk. Brandon Eisert threw the final 3.1 innings without allowing a hit and striking out six to earn the save.
Jack Anderson gave the Beavers a 1-0 lead in the first inning with a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Steven Kwan who reached with a walk.
Oregon State (35-4) added two more runs in the fourth inning, extending the lead to 3-0. Adley Rutschman drove in the first run of the inning with an RBI infield single before Nick Madrigal scored Christian Donahue with a sacrifice fly to center.
Morgan McCullough got the Ducks on the board in the sixth inning, scoring on a wild pitch with two outs in the inning after he led off with a single.
Anderson added an insurance run for the Beavers in the seventh with a two-out run-scoring single, scoring K.J. Harrison making it 4-1.
