STANFORD, Calif. - The duo of Shweta Sangwan and Julia Eshet will compete in the round of 16 at the ITA All-Americans after a dominant performance on Saturday.Â
How It Happened: The second day of play at the ITA All-Americans was highlighted by Sangwan and Eshet's win after a tough day in singles.Â
Eshet and Sangwan defeated Pieters and Clement of St. Mary's, 6-4, slotting them into the round of 16 taking place tomorrow.Â
In singles, Sangwan started the day strong, taking down Santa Clara's Gevargiz in straight sets, 6-4, 6-0. However, the senior couldn't hold on in her second match of the day, dropping a close one to Gordon of Stanford, 6-4, 7-6(2). Â
Nasser also dropped a close one today in the round of 32, falling to Stanford's Choy in a three-set thriller, 6-0, 5-7, 6-1. Eshet competed in the singles consolation draw where she lost to Gallagher of Washington, 6-4, 7-6(3).
