EUGENE, Ore. – Taylor Borup has been named the Pac-12 offensive player of the week and Brooke Nuneviller earned Pac-12 freshman of the week honors after leading the Oregon volleyball team back-to-back road sweeps of UCLA and USC, the conference announced on Monday.
This is the first career Pac-12 weekly honor for Borup, while Nuneviller was named the Pac-12 freshman of the week for the second time this season.
Making the first two Pac-12 starts of her career, Borup tallied 23 total kills (3.83 k/s) on .311 hitting and added 27 total digs (4.50 d/s) while recording her first two career double-doubles. The junior transfer from North Carolina led the Ducks with a career-high 16 digs and season-high 13 kills (.310) in Friday's sweep of then-No. 17 UCLA, and then hit .313 with 10 kills and 11 digs on Sunday against then-No. 12 USC.
Nuneviller paced Oregon with 29 total digs (4.83 d/s) over the weekend, digging a team-best 17 balls against UCLA and 12 at USC. The Chandler, Ariz., native also added two aces in the Ducks' win over the Bruins on Friday. Nuneviller leads the Ducks and is No. 3 in the Pac-12 with 4.70 digs per set this season, and she has double-digit digs in 10 straight matches.
The Ducks, who rose six spots to No. 14 in the latest AVCA coaches poll after their big weekend in Los Angeles, have now won five Pac-12 weekly honors through the first seven weeks of the season.
