Fall Slate Continues With Duck Invitational

EUGENE, Ore. – Two weeks removed from its last tournament, the Oregon men's tennis team returns to the court this weekend to host the Duck Invitational. Play begins Friday at 9 a.m. at the Student Tennis Center with championship matches scheduled for Sunday.

2018 Fall Records/Results
Junior Ty Gentry headlines the Ducks' singles lineup. The Olympia, Wash., native enters the tournament off an appearance in the Round of 16 at the ITA Northwest Regional. Gentry will be joined in the green bracket by Riki Oshima and Ethan Young-Smith. The yellow bracket will feature Charles Roberts and Evan Felcher.
Roberts and Armanda Soemarno will be one of three teams to receive a first-round bye in the doubles draw. The Oregon duo is 4-1 this fall, a record that includes a title run at the UCSB Classic. Dating back to last season, Roberts and Soemarno are 16-7 together. The Ducks will have two teams in the bracket.
Last Time Out
The Ducks swept the singles and doubles titles at the ITA Northwest Regional in Seattle, earning a pair of entries into the 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships. Emmanuel Coste became the first Oregon player since 2004 to win the regional singles title while Joshua Charlton and Thomas Laurent teamed up to capture the doubles crown.
The National Fall Championships will be held Nov. 7-11 in Surprise, Ariz. In addition to qualifiers by way of the regional tournament, Laurent will also be part of the singles draw with his quarterfinal showing at the ITA All-American in early October.
