EUGENE, Ore. - The No. 7 ranked Oregon women's basketball team wraps up its non-conference schedule this week with back-to-back games against Air Force (Thursday, 11 AM PT) and UC Irvine (Friday, 12 PM).
#7 OREGON DUCKS (9-1, 0-0 Pac-12)
PPG: 91.4 | FG%: 52.3 | 3FG%: 41.4 | FT%: 86.3
Notes: The Ducks have one of the most efficient offenses in the NCAA so far this season. UO's 91.4 points per game ranks first in the NCAA. UO is second in the nation with a 1.86 assist-to-turnover ratio. UO's 10.8 turnovers per game are the third fewest in the NCAA while its 20.1 assists per game are ninth. DUCKS TOP NO. 4 MISSISSIPPI STATE
No. 4 ranked Mississippi State entered Matthew Knight Arena on Dec. 18 with the nation's No. 4 scoring defense and No. 2 rebounding margin. The Ducks beat the Bulldogs at their own game in an 82-74 win. Oregon outrebounded MSU, 27-25, and scored 82 points. Sabrina Ionescu struggled shooting in the game, going just 5-of-18 from the field, but went a perfect 17-of-17 from the free throw line, both a UO and Pac-12 record. As a team, the Ducks went 27-of-28 from the line. Maite Cazorla, who had scored in double figures in two previous games against MSU, added 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Ruthy Hebard had a stellar defensive effort, holding MSU All-American forward Teaira McCowan to just five points.
IONESCU SNAPS UO, PAC-12 FT MARK
In Oregon's Dec. 18 win against No. 4 ranked Mississippi State, junior Sabrina Ionescu went a perfect 17-of-17 at the charity stripe, breaking both the UO and Pac-12 free throw percentage records. The previous Oregon record was 14-of-14, set by Jessica Schutt at Washington on Feb. 19, 1995. The previous Pac-12 record was 15-of-15, set three different times, most recently by UW's Kristi Kingma against Oregon State on Jan. 25, 2013.
