NEW ORLEANS – The Oregon women's golf team finished the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 13th place after shooting 22 over in the final round of the tournament Tuesday.
How it Happened: The Ducks (297, 310, 310 – 917, +53) entered Tuesday's third round in 12th place overall, and dropped one spot across the final 18 holes to finish in 13th place. Florida claimed the team title, finishing at 1 over.
Sophomore Amy Matsuoka was the Ducks' top finisher at the Allstate Sugar Bowl, shooting 6 over in the final round. Coupled with a 1-over 73 and 5-over 77 in the first two rounds, she finished at +12 overall and in 39th place on the individual scoreboard.
Despite shooting an even par in the first round of the tournament, junior Kathleen Scavo struggled in the second round, shooting 9 over. However, in the final round of the tournament, Scavo looked more like herself, carding two birdies to score a 4-over 76. Her third round performance put her at +13 for the whole tournament and tied for 40th place on the individual leaderboard.
Junior Petra Salko and freshman Alexis Phadungmartvorakul both closed out the tournament at 17-over to tie for 58th. Salko carded two birdies in her final round to record a 7-over 79, while Phadungmartvorakul scored an 8-over 80.
Freshman Madi Daniel had a strong performance to close out the tournament, shooting 5-over 77 in the final round. Like Salko and Phadungmartvorakul, Daniel shot +17 over the course of the tournament to finish tied for 58th place on the individual leaderboard.
