Hebard's Career Game Helps Ducks to Win at Washington

SEATTLE – Ruthy Hebard scored a career-high 30 points and the No. 9 ranked Oregon women's basketball team won, 76-63, on Friday night at Washington.
The Ducks (22-4, 11-2 Pac-12) swept the season series against the Huskies with the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Oregon started the game on a 7-0 run, as Mallory McGwire knocked down two quick buckets and Maite Cazorla sunk a three-pointer. The Huskies battled back and made it a three-point game, 19-16, going to the second. Oregon was 8-of-13 from the field and 2-of-4 from three in the first quarter.
Oregon started the second quarter just 1-of-7 from the floor and Washington took a 25-20 lead on a Hannah Johnson three-pointer with 7:19 on the clock. The Ducks closed out the second on a 13-2 run and owned a 33-27 lead at halftime. Ruthy Hebard had a team-high 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting at the break. Oregon shot 44.8 percent overall but went just 2-of-11 from three in the first half.
After Amber Melgoza hit a three for UW to make it a 43-35 lead for the Ducks, Oregon went on an 8-0 run and led, 51-35, with 3:44 left in the quarter. The Ducks leaned heavily on Hebard in the third quarter. The sophomore had 14 points in the third, as Oregon owned a 60-42 lead going to the fourth.
Oregon continued to build its advantage, leading by as much as 28 points in the fourth quarter, 75-47, with 6:01 left to play. With the Ducks playing reserves in the final five minutes, Washington cut into the UO lead but the Ducks won, 76-63.
BOX SCORE: Hebard was the star with her career-high 30 points plus 14 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season. Maite Cazorla had an off shooting night but matched her season-best with 11 assists. Sabrina Ionescu had 10 points plus seven rebounds and four assists.
PAC-12 STANDINGS: Stanford and UCLA also won on Friday night, maintaining the three-way tie between the Ducks, Cardinal and Bruins on top of the Pac-12 standings.
