Ducks Finish Day One of SunTrust Gator Invitational

The Oregon women’s golf team is currently in seventh place after shooting 18-over 578 of the first two rounds at the SunTrust Gator Invitational on Saturday
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Oregon women's golf team hung tough in the first day of the SunTrust Gator Invitational, shooting 12-over 293 in the first round and 6-over 284 in the second round at the Mark Bostick Golf Course on Saturday.
How it Happened: After shooting 18 over in the first two rounds, the Ducks are in 7th place with 18 holes left to play. Host Florida currently leads the field after shooting 1-under par throughout the day.
Junior Petra Salko led the Ducks through rounds one and two, finishing with an overall score of 1-over 141. Thanks in part to carding four birdies in the first round, Salko scored a 2-under 68 to record her first round in the 60s this season.
Junior Kathleen Scavo finished the day shooting 4-over par. After shooting 5 over in the first round, Scavo found her footing in the second round and carded three birdies to record a score of 1-under 69.
Sophomore Alexis Phadungmartvorakul shot 3 over in the first round and 2 over in the second round to finish the day at 5-over 145.
After shooting 11 over in the first round, sophomore Amy Matsuoka improved tremendously in the second round, carding three birdies to shoot 1-over par. Matsuoka will head into the second round at 12 over.
Madi Daniel struggled through the first two rounds shooting 13-over 153. Daniel shot 7 over in the first round and 6 over in the second round.
