Boley Blitzes Washington

SEATTLE – With Oregon's big three each having an off shooting day, Erin Boley picked up the slack in a big way with 31 points and nine three-pointers in a 76-57 win at Washington on Sunday afternoon.
Oregon (19-1, 8-0 Pac-12) is off to its best start in league play since joining the Pac-10 and has won 12 games overall since falling at Michigan State on Dec. 9.
BIG TIME BOLEY: Boley's nine three-pointers matched the UO single-game record, previously shared by Katelyn Loper and Taylor Lilley. Boley knocked down 17 three-pointers in two games against Washington this season. Her 31 points set a new career-high.
ALONE IN FIRST: With Stanford's loss at Utah on Sunday afternoon, the Ducks are the lone undefeated team in Pac-12 play. The Utes visit MKA at 7 PM on Friday in a battle for first place in the Pac-12 standings.
HOW IT HAPPENED: After the Ducks went up 12-4 on an Erin Boley jumper with 4:49 left in the first, Washington went on an 11-0 run to take the lead, 15-12. UW's Amber Melgoza knocked down a three in the final minute of the quarter to give Washington an 18-16 lead going to the second.
Boley's hot shooting and improved defense helped the Ducks take back the lead in the second. Boley hit four three-pointers in the second, including three straight, and Oregon took a 36-29 lead into the break. Boley had a game-high 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting in the first half. No other Duck had more than six points at halftime.
Oregon dialed up the defense even more in the third. The Ducks held Washington without a field goal for the final 8:23 of the third quarter and took a 20-point lead, 58-38, into the fourth. Oregon outscored the Huskies, 22-9, in the third.
The Ducks continued to pull away in the fourth, leading by as much as 22 points before finishing with a 76-57 victory.
NOTES: Oregon has scored 72+ points in every game this season…Ionescu nearly posted a 17th career triple-double with 13 points, eight rebounds and nine assists…Ionescu, Satou Sabally and Ruthy Hebard combined to shoot just 12-of-35 from the field.
UP NEXT: Oregon is back home next weekend to host Utah on Friday and Colorado on Sunday.
