Oregon's win over WSU on Sunday afternoon included Sabrina Ionescu's 15th career triple-double and a career-high 34 points by Ruthy Hebard.
EUGENE, Ore. — Sabrina Ionescu tied the UO career record for assists in the process of recording her 15th career triple-double Sunday afternoon, and Ruthy Hebard scored a career-high 34 points as Oregon dispatched of Washington State, 98-58, before 5,946 fans in Matthew Knight Arena.
Two days after having to grind out a back-and-forth game with Washington, the Ducks never trailed in Sunday's matinee. "We were happy about the win Friday, (but) we thought we could play a little better," UO coach Kelly Graves said. "The type of team we have, a championship-caliber team, they responded."
How It Happened: In the early going the Ducks leaned on the dominance of Hebard in the post. She had 10 points in the first quarter and 19 by halftime as Oregon took a 20-point lead into the half. At that point the UO women had a 27-13 advantage in rebounds, were outscoring WSU in the paint 34-12 and led overall, 49-29.
"Ruthy had a matchup advantage," Graves said. "And she took advantage."

Ionescu had 603 career assists by halftime, and got No. 604 on the opening possession of the second half with a bounce pass through the paint to Hebard. No. 606 was a pass from deep in the post out to Satou Sabally at the top of the key for a three-pointer, and Ionescu tied Lauri Landerholm's UO career record with No. 607 on the penultimate possession of the third quarter.
But the UO junior went the entire fourth quarter without an assist. After opening the period with a jump shot, Ionescu grabbed her ninth rebound on a miss by WSU at the other end, and moments later an offensive rebound gave Ionescu her 15th triple-double, extending her own NCAA record for both women and men — and drawing a roar from the Matthew Knight Arena crowd.
"It's nice they're so into it and care so much about a record like that," Ionescu said.
Who Stood Out: Hebard's 34 points came on 16-of-21 shooting, and she might have threatened the UO single-game record of 41 but for 2-of-10 free-throw shooting. Sabally wrapped up a strong start to Pac-12 play with 25 points and seven rebounds, giving the sophomore 44 points and 19 rebounds for the weekend. Ionescu finished with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, and Erin Boley followed up her career night Friday with 12 points.

What It Means: The Ducks were satisfied but not particularly pleased with Friday's effort against the Huskies, and they responded emphatically Sunday.
Notable: Ionescu became the 12th player in Pac-12 history to reach 600 career assists. She became the third active NCAA player with 600 assists. … Maite Cazorla finished with five assists to give her 598 in her career. … Sabally finished two points off her career high of 27 points set earlier this season against UC Irvine. … The UO single-game scoring record of 41 points is held by Chrishae Rowe (12/4/13). … The Ducks had 12 steals and converted WSU's 18 turnovers into 21 points. … Oregon, which averages 10.8 offensive rebounds for the season, had 10 in the second quarter alone against the Cougars.
Largest League Wins: Oregon's 40-point win over Washington State on Sunday was the third largest Pac-12/10 win in program history. Oregon knocked off the Cougars by 46 (101-55) on Jan. 22, 1987 for the record. The Ducks also beat WSU by 41 (88-47) on Feb. 21, 2002 for the second-largest. UO's biggest-ever conference win was by 49 against Boise State on Jan. 10, 1981 as part of the Northwest Basketball League.
Up Next: The Ducks go on the road to play at Southern California on Friday (8 p.m., Pac-12 Network).
