Three-Match Road Swing Begins at UCLA

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon volleyball team takes a trip to Los Angeles this weekend to begin a three-match road swing, starting Friday against UCLA. The match starts at 6 p.m. (PT) and will air on the Pac-12 Networks. Dating back to 2015, the Ducks and Bruins have split the past eight meetings. Oregon swept UCLA in the first meeting this season (Oct. 18) in Eugene.

About UCLA (14-11, 9-7 Pac-12)
The Bruins are third in the Pac-12 with 13.89 kills per set, led by junior OH Mac May who is third in the conference and ranks 15th in the NCAA with 4.61 kills per set. She also leads the conference with 0.35 service aces per set. Sophomore libero Kelli Barry ranks ninth in the Pac-12 with 3.49 digs per set. UCLA is receiving votes in Tuesday's release (Nov. 18) of the AVCA national poll.
About USC (15-11, 9-7 Pac-12)
The Trojans rank among the top five in the Pac-12 in service aces per set (3rd, 1.41), blocks per set (5th, 2.54) and team hitting percentage (5th, .251). Senior OH Khalia Lanier leads the league and ranks sixth in the NCAA with 5.01 kills per set. Senior MB Jasmine Gross is third in the conference and 14th in the nation with 1.39 blocks per set. USC is receiving votes in the most recent AVCA national poll.
Another Mile-Stone
Senior MB Ronika Stone tied her career high with 20 kills against Arizona State (Nov. 17). In the match, she eclipsed 1,200 career kills. Stone enters the LA weekend with 1,205 kills during her standout UO career. Stone also ranks sixth on the program's rally-scoring points list and needs just 30 points to tie Alaina Bergsma (2010-12) for fifth on that list.
Double-double Trio vs Arizona State
For the first time this year, Oregon had three players record a double-double in one match. Against Arizona State (Nov. 17), the Ducks got triple-double efforts from FR S Elise Ferreira (58A, 18D), SO OH Brooke Nuneviller (12K, 18D) and SR OPP Willow Johnson (14K, 16D).
Ball Up
With five players in double figures, the Ducks had a season-high 89 digs in their Nov. 17 matchup with Arizona State. In the match, SO OH Brooke Nuneviller and FR S Elise Ferreira each had 18 digs. SR OPP Willow Johnson had a career-high 16 digs while FR DS Bea Wetton and FR L Georgia Murphy picked up 14 and 13 digs, respectively. The Ducks are averaging 15.68 digs per set during Pac-12 play, the top team figure during league-only play.
Finding Her Rhythm
During the Ducks' four-match homestand, FR MB Karson Bacon hit .462 (28-4-52) to go along with 1.33 blocks per set. Against Arizona State (Nov. 17), Bacon tallied 12 kills on 21 attempts with no errors, good for a .571 percentage. She also had seven total blocks in the match.
Aggressive Serving
The Ducks registered 10 service aces in their five setter vs Arizona State (Nov. 17). It was the third double-digit effort of the season. During conference play, Oregon is second in the league with 1.43 aces per set. FR L Georgia Murphy led all players with four service winners.
Last Time Out
Oregon had two match points in the fifth set against Arizona State (Nov. 17) but the visiting Sun Devils prevailed with an 18-16 win in the decisive frame. With the loss, the Ducks dropped to 2-5 in five setters this season. Five of the seven five-set matches have come during Pac-12 play. The Ducks dropped the opening set but took a 2-1 match lead before ASU rallied for the win.
