Notes: Civil War Round 2
02/12/19 | Men's Basketball
Oregon and Oregon State will meet in the 352nd Civil War Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Gill Coliseum (Pac-12 Network). The most-contested series in the NCAA dates to 1903.
THE STARTING 5
• 1 – Last week's win against Cal moved Dana Altman into the NCAA's top 30 in all-time Division I coaching victories. He currently has 635 career wins at the Division I level, which is one ahead of Hugh Durham and Norm Sloan. The next coach Altman will pass on that list is John Wooden, who had 664 wins at Indiana State and UCLA.
• 2 – Last week, Payton Pritchard rebounded from his recent shooting slump by netting back-to-back 20-point games for the first time in his career. Feb. 6 against Cal, he added a career-best 10 rebounds to go along with 20 points for his second career double-double. Feb. 10 versus Stanford, Pritchard again scored 20 points. He currently leads Oregon in total points (291), rebounds (96) assists (102), steals (39) and minutes (848).
• 3 – Kenny Wooten matched his career high in blocks with 7 last Sunday versus Stanford as the Ducks allowed a season-low in points (46) to the Cardinal. Stanford's 27.3 percentage from the field was Oregon's second-best defensive effort of the year.
• 4 – The Jan. 31 win at Utah was Oregon's 100th victory over the last four seasons. It is the fifth time in a row that Oregon has won 100 games over a four-season span, all of which have come during the Dana Altman era. Those are also the only five times in program history that Oregon has won 100 games over a four-season time span.
• 5 – Oregon is 14-2 when shooting a better percentage from the field than opponents, but only 1-7 when the opposition shoots a better percentage.
