Ducks Move Up to 17th in NFCA Top 25

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon softball team moved up two spots to No. 17 in the USA Today/NFCA top-25 poll on Tuesday after going 2-2 at the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational over the weekend.
The Ducks are off to a 7-2 start under new coach Melyssa Lombardi, including an 8-5 upset win over then-No. 8 LSU last Friday in Clearwater. Oregon also moved up five spots to No. 17 in the latest Espn.com/USA Softball poll.
Oregon will head to Cathedral City, Calif., this week to play six games over four days at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, beginning Thursday against New Mexico State and Bethune-Cookman.
UO will play one ranked team this weekend (No. 23 Texas Tech), and two teams that are receiving votes (Texas A&M, New Mexico State).
The Ducks have now been ranked in the USA Today/NFCA top 25 for 137 consecutive polls, dating back to week 10 of the 2010 season.
