Ducks Post Largest League Win

EUGENE, Ore. – No. 4 ranked Oregon rolled to its 14th straight victory as the Ducks posted the largest league win in program history, 102-43, over Colorado in front of 6,350 fans on Super Bowl Sunday afternoon at Matthew Knight Arena.
PAC-12 STANDINGS: Oregon (21-1, 10-0 Pac-12) is the lone undefeated team in the Pac-12. The Ducks have a one-game lead over No. 9 Oregon State (9-1) and two-game edge over No. 8 Stanford (8-2). Oregon visits the Cardinal next weekend and meets OSU in back-to-back games in two weeks.
LARGEST LEAGUE WIN: Oregon posted the biggest league win in program history with its 59-point victory over Colorado. The Ducks' previous Pac-10/12 record was a 46-point win (101-55) against Washington State on Jan. 22, 1987. The largest overall conference win in program history was a 49-point win (90-41) over Boise State on Jan. 10, 1981 as part of the Northwest Basketball League.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Oregon started the game on a 16-0 run as Colorado didn't score until a pair of made free throws with 4:22 left in the first quarter. That was the only points for the Buffs in the first quarter as the Ducks held them without a made field goal (0-for-13). Oregon owned a 27-2 lead going into the second quarter as four different players had six-or-more points in the first.
Colorado made its first basket of the game with 8:01 left in the second quarter as the Ducks owned a 30-4 lead. After Colorado scored to make it a 40-9 lead for the Ducks, Oregon went on a 9-0 run, keyed by back-to-back Maite Cazorla layups. Cazorla buried a three later in the quarter and the Ducks took a 54-13 lead into the break. Cazorla had a team-high 16 points at halftime as the Ducks shot 66.7 percent (22-of-33) from the floor.
Oregon continued to pull away in the third, using a 13-3 run to go up by 50 points, 67-17, with 3:53 left in the quarter. Ruthy Hebard had a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds going to the fourth as the Ducks led Colorado, 74-22.
After the Buffs scored nine points in the first two minutes of the fourth, the Ducks went on a 16-2 run to take a 92-33 lead with 4:03 left in the game. Taylor Chavez splashed a three-pointer to break the century mark with 1:12 left to play.
TWO-POINT QUARTER: Oregon held Colorado to just two points in the first quarter…The Buffs did not make a shot (0-for-13) and only scored with a pair of free throws. The Ducks had held both Long Beach State and Arizona to a four-point quarter.
NOTES: Oregon has scored 100+ points five times this season…The Ducks are off to their best ever league start, the previous best was 6-0 last season…Ruthy Hebard posted her ninth double-double of the season with 24 points and 12 rebounds…She was a perfect 10-for-10 from the field, her first perfect shooting night of the season and the seventh of her career (min. 5+ FGs).
