Attackers Shannon Williams and Carlie Leach combined for seven goals in Oregon's Pac-12 home opener on Friday night, but it wasn't enough as the Ducks fell, 18-10.
EUGENE, Ore.- Despite hat tricks from senior Shannon Williams and freshman Carlie Leach, the Oregon women's lacrosse team couldn't hold on to Arizona State, falling 18-10, in its Pac-12 home opener at Pape Field on Friday night.
Williams' six-point game, consisting of four goals and two assists, was enough to tie Oregon's program record for career goals. Leach followed with a goal off a free position shot. Sophomore attacker Lillian Stump registered her sixth goal of the season to end the first half for the Ducks. Oregon trailed Arizona State, 14-4 headed into intermission.
The Ducks outscored the Sun Devils with six goals in the second half, while they held Arizona State to just four goals. Stump opened up the second half with another goal off an assist from Williams.
