Nuneviller Named to U.S. Women's Junior National Training Team
05/29/19 | Women's Volleyball
EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon volleyball's Brooke Nuneviller will don the red, white and blue once again this summer after being selected to the U.S. Women's Junior National Training Team (WJNTT) on Wednesday.
Nuneviller, the AVCA Pacific North freshman of the year for the Ducks in 2018, was named to the 20-player WJNTT roster for the fourth straight year as one of three liberos.
The 20 selected athletes will challenge for 12 roster spots on the U.S. Women's Junior National Team (WJNT) that will participate in the 2019 FIVB Women's U20 World Championship on July 12-21 in Leon Guanajuato & Aguascalientes, Mexico.
The WJNTT will hold a training camp July 6-12 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., with the final WJNT selections made immediately before leaving for the World Championships.
Nuneviller is transitioning to outside hitter with the Ducks for the upcoming 2019 season, but was excellent as the libero during Oregon's thrilling run to the 2018 NCAA Elite Eight. The Chandler, Ariz., native racked up 580 total digs, the third-most in UO single-season history, while earning AVCA all-America honorable mention and Pac-12 all-freshman honors.
