EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon volleyball team entered the AVCA top 10 on Monday after moving up two spots to No. 9 in the latest top-25 rankings.
The Ducks opened the 2019 season with a pair of sweeps over UC Irvine and Boston College this last weekend in the Oregon Classic. Oregon hit .507 in its season-opening win over the Anteaters, the program's best single-match mark since 2012.
Oregon's No. 9 ranking is its highest since the Ducks reached No. 8 in week four of the 2017 season. UO was No. 9 in the final 2018 poll after its thrilling run to the NCAA Elite Eight.
The Ducks will return to practice for a week before opening a two-week East Coast trip next week in Pennsylvania with three matches against a trio of opponents currently ranked in the top 10. Oregon will take on No. 10 Pittsburgh next Wednesday, Sept. 11, before going to University Park to face No. 8 Minnesota and No. 6 Penn State on Sept. 13-14.
