12/12/22 | Men's Basketball
EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon point guard Will Richardson has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week, the conference announced today. It's the third time he's earned the distinction, after twice being named POTW last January.
Richardson recorded the fourth triple-double in program history in the 78-65 win against Nevada on Saturday. He finished with 19 points (7-12 FG) and career-highs of 10 rebounds and 11 assists, becoming the first player in program history with at least 19 points 10 rebounds and 11 assists in a single game, and first Pac-12 player with those numbers or higher since Damon Stoudamire in 1995. Richardson added two steals on the night and is now tied for fourth on the school's all-time steals list.
Over the last five games, Richardson is averaging 19.2 points (.522 FG%), 8.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. He ranks third in the conference with 5.8 assists per game this season and sits at eighth in the UO record books with 394 career assists.
Richardson's triple-double was the first by an Oregon player since Luke Jackson tallied 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists on December 20, 2002. Jackson finished with the same stat-line a season prior, helping the Ducks to an 85-73 win at Washington on February 2, 2001. Ron Lee recorded the first triple-double in program history, notching 15 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists on December 7, 1972, against Montana State.
