
No. 4 Ducks Open Spring Season At Lamkin Invitational

EUGENE, Ore. - Coming off an 11th-place finish at last spring's NCAA Championships and an impressive fall campaign, the No. 4 Oregon women's golf team will kick off its 2021-22 spring schedule on Monday in the Lamkin Invitational at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
The Ducks will be the second-highest ranked team in the field, behind only No. 1 Stanford, and one of nine top-25 programs. Play will begin with a 36-hole day on Monday before wrapping up with 18 holes on Tuesday.

Lu, Ducks Dominate In Nashville
Oregon got its 2021-22 fall season started in historic fashion back in September, running away with the Mason Rudolph Championship in historic fashion. Led by a phenomenal week from Hsin-Yu (Cynthia) Lu, the Ducks fired an incredible 26-under 838 to win by 14 strokes and shatter the previous 54-hole program records for both total score and score vs. par. UO earned its second tournament win under head coach Derek Radley, and the Ducks posted two of the top 10 single rounds in program history with a 12-under 276 in round one and a 9-under 279 in round three. Lu was lights out from start to finish, winning individual medalist honors by six strokes with fantastic 17-under 199 to shatter the UO individual 54-hole scoring records. Lu shot sub-70 in all three rounds, including a 7-under 65 in round three to tie for the third-best individual round in UO history. Lu led the field with 19 total birdies, and she closed the tournament with an incredible run of 42 consecutive holes without making a bogey.
Lin Leads Ducks During Fall Season
Senior Tze-Han (Heather) Lin was terrific for the Ducks during the fall, leading the way with an impressive 71.67 scoring average. Lin opened the fall with a pair of top-20 performances before closing with back-to-back top-five finishes. She placed fourth at the Stanford Intercollegiate with a 5-under 208, recording the best single round of her career in round two with a 6-under 65 to tie for the third-lowest score in UO history. Lin followed that up with a 5-under 214 at the Pac-12 Preview, finishing with a 6-under 67 to tie for third place overall. Lin also led the Ducks during the fall with 44 total birdies, giving her 215 in her career entering the spring.
Shin, Hammericksen Join Roster
The Ducks returned their entire starting lineup from last spring's NCAA Championships team, but UO also bolstered its roster with the additions of junior Brittany Shin and freshman Baylee Hammericksen. Shin will make her UO debut at the Lamkin Invitational after transferring from Cal State Fullerton, where she was the 2021 Big West Player of the year. Hammericksen is Medford, Ore., native who signed with the Ducks as the top-ranked high school player in the state after winning the Class 4A/3A/2A/1A individual state championship as both a freshman and a sophomore.
Top-Five Streak
The Ducks enter the 2022 spring season with an impressive top-five streak under head coach Derek Radley. Oregon placed in the top five in all four of its fall tournaments, headlined by its dominant win at the Mason Rudolph Championships. UO has recorded 16 top-five finishes in its last 18 tournaments dating back to the 2019-20 season, including a pair of tournament victories. Overall, the Ducks have earned 22 top-five finishes in 29 total tournaments since Radley and assistant coach Monica Vaughn took over ahead of the 2018-19 season.

After opening the fall at the Lamkin Invitational, the Ducks will return to action on February 25-27 at the Florida State Match Up in Tallahassee.
