Oregon holds a 3-0 lead in its series history with SU, after the Ducks earned an 83-46 win a season ago.
LAST TIME OUT
Playing two games in less than 24 hours, Oregon came away with a 59-51 win over Idaho Friday night and finished the stretch with a 65-54 win over Portland State Saturday afternoon.
UO's trio of Chance Gray, Phillipina Kyei and Grace VanSlooten accounted for 53 points in both outings, and have scored 106 of Oregon's 124 points in the two games. Gray dropped 20 against the Vandals while Kyei matched that point total against PSU, setting a career high.
Kyei logged a double-double in each game while VanSlooten scored 17 to go with 10 rebounds against Idaho.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN
Southern (1-6) comes to Eugene following a 101-45 home victory over Louisiana Christian on Saturday. The game marked the just the second home game of the season for the Jaguars, who began the season playing five Power 5 opponents on the road.
Four players scored in double figures in SU's first win of the campaign, paced by 17 from Taylor Williams. Three players - Aleighyah Fontenot, Sirvivia Legions and Soniyah Reed - each added 14 in the game, as the Jags shot 63 percent from the floor and 53 percent from 3-point range.
Williams leads Southern averaging 9.7 points a game while shooting 45.5 percent from the floor and grabbing 3.3 rebounds a night. Preseason all-SWAC second team selection Chloe Fleming has averaged 7.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.
The defending SWAC champions, the Jags were picked second in the conference's preseason coaches poll. Southern finished 18-15 a season ago while winning its conference tournament crown.

In the game, Chance Gray finished with a dozen points with two assists while Phillipina Kyei logged a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double in 24 minutes of action.

While visiting Baton Rouge last season, Oregon was taken on a guided tour of Southern University's campus to learn first-hand the history of the historically Black university. Following the game, the Ducks and Jaguars enjoyed a shared dinner together while creating relationships that would not have been possible without the initiative. SU will be the second SWAC team to visit Matthew Knight Arena this season, as the Ducks defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 86-60, on Nov. 8.
THE DUCKS' NEW BIG THREE
Oregon's top returning trio of Chance Gray, Phillipina Kyei and Grace VanSlooten helped the Ducks snap a two-game losing skid with back-to-back wins at home in less than 24 hours this past weekend. Against Idaho Friday, the three accounted for 53 of UO's 59 points in an eight-point victory. The following afternoon, they again combined for 53 total points in a 65-54 win over Portland State. In that 24-hour span, they have scored 106 of Oregon's 124 total points - or 85.4 percent of the team's total offense.
» Gray finished with a game-high 20 points against Idaho, her second 20-point outing of the season and fourth of her career.
» Leading by just four headed into the fourth quarter against the Vandals, Gray went a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line over the game's final 3:22 to help stave off Idaho.
» Gray knocked down all five of UO's 3-pointers against PSU, including four in the fourth quarter and three coming on consecutive trips down the floor to help seal the victory.
» Kyei was a force in both contests, first matching her career high with 16 points before setting a new career best with 20 against Portland State.
» Kyei extended her streak to three straight double-doubles, while upping her season total to seven with 17 boards against UI and a season-high 18 against PSU.
» VanSlooten was consistent across the two wins, scoring 17 against Idaho before 18 against the Vikings while grabbing 10 and 9 rebounds, respectively.
» VanSlooten scored 16 of her 18 in the second half against PSU, hitting on 6-of-13 shots from the field.

PHEED PHILLI
Junior center PHILLIPINA KYEI, the tallest player in Oregon history, has turned in a double-double in seven of Oregon's first nine games this season to lead the Pac-12. Kyei produced three straight double-doubles to open the season and has logged three straight against after a 20-point, 18-rebound performance against Portland State Saturday, marking the longest streaks of her career. She upped her career total to 15 double-doubles, moving her into 14th in program history. She is just the 23rd player in UO history with at least 10 career double-doubles.
» Kyei has 15 double-doubles in just 71 career games, the fewest number of any Duck with at least 13 double-doubles.
» Kyei is one of five players in the Pac-12 averaging at least 10 points and 10 rebounds, while her seven double-doubles lead the conference.
