Oregon Finishes Weekend With Stanford

EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon looks to recover from a loss in its conference opener in a Sunday showdown with No. 21 Stanford.
The Ducks will look to snap several long-standing streaks against the Cardinal with a return to offensive potency and defensive form. All-time, the Ducks are winless (0-15) against a ranked Stanford side.

THE DUCKS vs. THE CARDINAL
Sunday's matchup between Oregon and Stanford will be the 24th all-time between the programs. The Cardinal have controlled the better part of the series, winning the last 14 between the two sides. Sunday will be the 16th against game against a ranked Stanford side for the Ducks. Oregon is looking to bounce back after falling in a tightly contested game, 13-12, against California to open conference play. The Cardinal are also looking to rebound after suffering their first conference loss of the season, 17-15, to Colorado.
OREGON DROPS CONFERENCE OPENER
Despite several attempts to rally from behind, the Ducks were unable to stage a comeback on Friday in a 13-12 loss to California. Oregon found itself in an early three-goal deficit and was able to make it a 9-9 game going into the half. Despite outshooting the Golden Bears 7-4 and finishing with their second scoreless quarter of the season in the fourth, the Ducks' efforts fell short.
» Senior Alyssa Wright had a career day, finishing with a team-high five points (3 goals, 2 assists)
» Three other Ducks, sophomore Lauren Rismani (2 goals, 2 assists), Gabby Cleveland (3 goals) and Morgan McCarthy (1 goal, 2 assists), finished Friday evening with three-or-more points.
» Paige Crowther made a valiant effort in the cage after coming in before halftime. The sophomore finished with seven saves and a .583 save percentage in just over 36 minutes of action., leading to the Ducks' second scoreless quarter of the season with her defending the net.
MORGAN IN THE MIDDLE
A focal point of the Oregon attack, junior and team captain Morgan McCarthy is having a strong 2023 campaign. The midfielder became the first Duck at the position to take home All-Pac 12 honors after receiving second-team recognition last year. McCarthy has a combined 16 goals through the first five games this season.
» Leads Oregon with 17 goals this season, fourth among Pac-12 players.
» Currently carries a 17-game scoring streak, totaling 37 goals in the stretch.
» Finished last season with the third-most draw controls in a season in school history (69). Has a team-leading 20 this season.
» Became the 10th player in UO history with 50 goals and 100 draw controls in a career on March 3 against Navy.
