Bunker Selected 16th Overall in WPF Draft

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Fifth-year senior infielder Allee Bunker was selected 16th overall by the USSSA Pride in the 2023 Women's Professional Fastpitch draft held Monday.
The Huntington Beach, Calif., native was the fourth pick in the fourth round and was one of five Pac-12 players chosen on Monday.
Bunker is the 19th Duck to be drafted professionally and the first since 2018 when Gwen Svekis (third overall), DJ Sanders (21st overall) and Jenna Lilley (22nd overall) were selected in the now-defunct National Pro Fastpitch league draft.
Bunker leads the Ducks with a .391 average and a .680 slugging percentage. She has a team-best 40 RBI and leads the Pac-12 with 11 doubles. She also has eight home runs and has only struck out six times in 2023.
Bunker ranks in the UO career top five in hits, doubles and RBI. She passed Nikki Udria – now assistant coach Nikki Ragin - (2014-17) for third in hits and now shows 266. Bunker has also passed Janie (Takeda) Reed 2012-15) for second in career doubles wand now shows 45. She is tied for fifth in career RBI with Samantha Pappas (2010-13) with 155.
When she scored two more runs, she will become the only player in program history ranked in the UO career top five in hits, doubles, runs and RBI.
