Pac-12 Tournament next for No. 22 Oregon

The Pac-12 Championships are next for No. 22 Oregon, April 28-30 at Stanford. Oregon finished fourth at the 2022 conference tournament. Owen Avrit and Nate Stember tied for 10th at 2-over 286 last year to help lead the Ducks. The four-round event is a 6-count-5 format. Teams will play the first two rounds on Friday (7:30 a.m. tee time), the third round Saturday (10 a.m.) and the final round Sunday (9:30 a.m.).
CHIP SHOTS
• Nate Stember earned his first victory as a Duck with a 6-under 207 to help Oregon win the team title at the Duck Invitational (3/27-28). He was named Pac-12 golfer of the week for his efforts.
• All five Ducks finished in the top 20 at the Duck Invitational. In addition to Stember's win, Owen Avrit and Greyson Leach tied for fifth, Greg Solhaug was T12 and Aiden Krafft was T18.
• The No. 30-ranked player nationally, Owen Avrit has two wins on the season. He claimed victory at the Bandon Dunes Championship with a 4-under 140, that included three birdies on his last four holes to secure the win and lead the Ducks to the team title as well. He also won the Cal Poly Invitational in the fall.
• Owen Avrit was named Pac-12 golfer of the week following his win at Bandon. He is just the second Duck to be honored by the league twice in the same season, joining PGA Tour professional Aaron Wise, who was honored twice in 2015-16.
• Owen Avrit has seven top-eight finishes in nine tournaments this season. In addition to his wins at Bandon and the Cal Poly Invitational (T1), he was the runner-up at the Western Intercollegiate, tied for fifth at the Duck Invitational and the Southwestern Invitational, and tied for eighth at both the Husky Invitational and the Maui Jim Intercollegiate.
• Greg Solhaug is coming off his best tournament of the season, the Western Intercollegiate where he tied for sixth with a career-low round of 64 and a career-low tournament of 208.
• The Ducks opened the spring by tying for fourth at the Southwestern Invitational. Owen Avrit led the squad with a fifth-place finish, while Greg Solhaug tied for 19th.
