Following a sweep the Arizona schools in its first home weekend of Pac-12 action, Oregon hits the road to take on No. 8 Stanford Friday before facing California Sunday.
The Ducks completed a home weekend sweep of Arizona and Arizona State for the second straight season and sixth time in the Pac-12 era. UO has won six straight games at Matthew Knight and is 8-1 at home this season.
Oregon and Stanford will meet for the 76th time in the series' history, with the Cardinal holding a 61-14 lead. The Ducks have won just three times at Maples Pavilion, with two of the three wins coming since the 2018-19 season.
LAST TIME OUT
Due to a severe ice storm that made its way through Eugene, the Ducks' game against Arizona took place without fans in the building. Despite committing 27 turnovers, Oregon held off the Wildcats to pick up a 70-68 victory,
The Ducks held a 38-19 rebounding advantage, leading to a 16-2 edge in second chance points. Down the stretch, Oregon connected on 8-of-10 free throws over the game's final 5:03, including Grace VanSlooten going 6-for-6 in that span. Sammie Wagner hit two 3-pointers over the final six minutes, both coming with UO's lead at five points or less.
VanSlooten led UO with 19 points, her third straight game scoring at least 18. Chance Gray added 13 and Phillipina Kyei recorded her third straight double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
SCOUTING STANFORD
Stanford (15-2, 4-1) remains No. 8 in the country for the third straight week after splitting a pair of top-25 road matchups last weekend. The Cardinal escaped 19th-ranked Utah 66-64 before dropping a 71-59 decision at fifth-ranked Colorado.
The Cardinal feature a pair of 17-point, 10-rebound-per-game players in Cameron Brink (17.6 ppg, 11.1 rpg) and Kiki Irafen (17.2 ppg, 10.4 rpg). Hannah Jump adds 10.7 per game to round out three averaging double figures. Stanford is tops in the Pac-12 in free throw shooting at 81.3 percent (third nationally) and rebounds per game at 47.2 (fourth nationally), while its plus-17.0 rebounding margin is second in the country.
