Ducks Collect Five All-Big Ten Honors

Oregon posted a 14-6 record in its first season in the Big Ten Conference.
EUGENE, Ore. – On the eve of its postseason opener, the Oregon volleyball team has earned five All-Big Ten accolades as announced by the league office Wednesday. Mimi Colyer, a unanimous selection, and Onye Ofoegbu were voted to the All-Big Ten First. Michelle Ohwobete and Cristin Cline earned spots on the second and all-freshman teams, respectively, while Canby, Ore., native Daley McClellan is the Ducks' Sportsmanship Honoree.
The Ducks earned a No. 4 seed in the 2024 NCAA Division I Championship and will play High Point in the first round Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Oregon is hosting the NCAA first and second rounds for a third-straight season; the Eugene quad also includes TCU and Hawai'i.

Colyer, one of seven unanimous Big Ten picks, enters the postseason ranked fifth in the Big Ten at 4.78 points per set, a figure up to 4.94 in conference-only matches. She recorded double-digit kills in 26 of 29 matches during the regular season including five outings with at least 20 kills. Colyer has a team-leading nine double-doubles and has posted a career-high 83 blocks this season.
After earning Big Ten weekly honors, the Lincoln, Calif., native was named AVCA National Player of the Week (Oct. 15) after posting 6.00 points per set, 5.25 kills per set (.354 pct.), 2.75 digs per set and 1.00 blocks per set against USC and Washington.
Ofoegbu is hitting .360 this season and averaging a career-high 1.35 blocks per set, both figures rank among the top six in the Big Ten heading into the NCAA Tournament. She is fourth in the conference with 142 total blocks, just two shy of a career best. With seven blocks in the regular-season finale at UCLA, Ofoegbu reached and surpassed 500 career blocks. Offensively, she has nine outing his season with 10 or more kills, hitting at least .381 in eight of those matches.
The Cerritos, Calif., native earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 23) after averaging 3.92 points per set and 2.17 blocks per set against in-state rivals Oregon State and Portland State.
Ohwobete enters the postseason as one of just four Big Ten players averaging at least 2.50 kills per set and 2.50 digs per set. She is second on the team with 272 kills and has double-digit kills in 13 matches including a season-high 20 kills while hitting .415 against Northwestern. She is also second on the team with eight double-doubles and leads UO with a career-high 39 aces. Against No. 9 Purdue, the Oakland, Calif., native had a career-high 19 digs to go along with 16 kills and three blocks.
Cline is fifth in the Big Ten and fourth among freshman in the NCAA with 10.34 assists per set. Oregon is hitting .266 this season with 11 matches at .300 or higher with a season-high .380 clip in a home sweep of UCLA. Cline has at least 40 assists in 13 matches including four efforts with 50 or more helpers. She is third on the team with four double-doubles. After a trip to Wisconsin and Iowa where she put up 11.00 assists per set with 15 digs and four blocks, she earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
McClellan is a team co-captain alongside Ofoegbu and Colby Neal. McClellan is enjoying a career season with 215 digs and 2.59 digs per set. She had a career-high 20 digs and eight assists in a four-set win over Colorado State. McClellan made eight starts at libero this season and reached 500 career digs with nine digs against Maryland.
The Sportsmanship Award honorees, one from each team, is chosen by their sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These student-athletes must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside the sports-competition setting.
