OFF AND RUNNING
The Oregon women's basketball team is off to a 3-0 start for the 11th consecutive season after an 84-66 victory over Grand Canyon at Matthew Knight Arena on Tuesday. The Ducks were led by the one-two punch of F Mia Jacobs (26 points) and G Katie Fiso (20 points, 10 assists). F Sarah Rambus added 11 points and G Astera Tuhina scored 11 points off the bench.
Oregon got the 2025-26 season started with an emphatic 100-59 victory over West Georgia on Nov. 3, and followed that up with a 90-47 win over Montana on Nov. 8. UO's swarming defense helped the Ducks force 32 UWG turnovers behind 24 steals, leading to 41 points off turnovers. Their 24 steals, their most since 2013, helped the Ducks pile up 32 fast-break points and 54 points in the paint. The 100-point scoring outburst marked the 66th time under Graves that the Ducks reached the 100-point mark, and the first time since the 2022-23 season opener against Northwestern (100-57).
Against the Grizzlies, UO recorded 16 steals in forcing 23 turnovers that resulted in 23 points. The Ducks' bench accounted for 47 of their 90 points, getting double-digit scoring efforts from reserves F Ehis Etute (12) and G Avary Cain (11). Playing with an increased emphasis on tempo, Oregon's offensive rating of 121.8 (points per 100 possessions) ranks fifth in the Big Ten while averaging 74.3 possessions per 40 minutes (seventh in Big Ten).
» Oregon's defense has recorded 12-plus steals while forcing at least 23 turnovers in all three games this season.

» The Ducks are averaging just 11.0 turnovers per game, the 22nd-best rate in the nation and fifth-best in the Big Ten.
» UO's turnover rate of 12.6 percent is fifth-lowest in the Big Ten and No. 20 in the country.
» The 2.09 assist-to-turnover ratio ranks seventh nationally and third in the Big Ten.
» Oregon is recording a steal on 21.0 percent of opponent possessions - the highest rate in the Big Ten and tied for the seventh-highest in the nation.
» Oregon's bench produced 38 points in the victory over the Wolves and added 47 more against the Grizzlies (42.5 PPG) after averaging 25.5 bench points per game last season that ranked second in the Big Ten and 21st nationally.
HERE WE GO, FISO
Sophomore point guard Katie Fiso is poised to be a major contributor and leader this season, as she takes over the lead guard spot after the graduation of guards Deja Kelly and Peyton Scott. Fiso, who was the Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Washington her senior season, got her first career start in the season opener against West Georgia and turned in her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 assists - without a turnover. She scored 10 points to go with five assists against Montana and then dropped a career-high 20 points while handing out 10 assists against Grand Canyon last Tuesday.
» Two double-doubles in three games (first double-doubles of her career) to tie for the Big Ten lead.
» Turned in the first 20-point, 10-assist double-double by a Duck since Sabrina Ionescu had 20 points and 12 assists against Stanford on March 8, 2020.
» First Duck with multiple points-assists double-doubles in a season since Ionescu during the 2019-20 campaign (17).
» One of just three Ducks since 2009 to have multiple points-assists double-doubles in a season (Maite Cazorla, Ionescu).
» 10 assists and three steals were both career highs against UWG, logging 23 minutes after averaging just 9.7 a game last season.
» She has led UO in assists in all three outings this season and is the Big Ten leader at 8.3 helpers a night (fifth nationally).
» Her double-double against West Georgia was the first points-assists double-double by a Duck since the 2022-23 season when Te-Hina Paopao did so in the WNIT on March 3, 2023.
» First Duck with 10-plus assists without a turnover since Minyon Moore did so at USC on Feb. 16, 2020, and first Duck since Ionescu on Feb. 1, 2020 with a point-assists double-double without committing a turnover.
WHATTYA SAY, RAMBO
According to head coach Kelly Graves, junior F Sarah Rambus put together one the team's best offseasons and is ready to make a big leap forward in 2025-26. Rambus displayed some of that potential in the team's lone exhibition game against Western Oregon, as she scored a game-high 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting while grabbing eight rebounds. In the season opener with West Georgia, she earned her third career start and turned in 13 points in just 14 minutes, going 6-for-10 from the field while grabbing four boards.
Rambus has started all three games this season, the first consecutive starts of her career, while surpassing 10 points twice this season after scoring 11 against Grand Canyon. Rambus now has five career games scoring in double figures, with UO going unbeaten in contests.
EHIS THE BEAST
Sophomore F Ehis Etute has shown flashes of brilliance in her season-plus as a Duck. The 6-foot Luxembourg product led Oregon with 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench against Montana on Nov. 8, her fourth career double-digit scoring effort. Etute, an adept rebounder, has led UO in rebounding in all three games this season and has finished as the team's leader seven times in her career. Etute averaged 9.9 minutes a game during her freshman campaign and is logging 17.2 minutes a game thus far in 2025-26, coming off the bench in each game.
A.T., ARE YA WITH ME?
Senior G Astera Tuhina, who enters her first season in Eugene after three at Washington State, has made in impact off the bench through three games of her Oregon career. Tuhina scored a season-high 11 points off the bench in Tuesday's 84-66 win over GCU, accounting for 11 of the Ducks' 15 bench points, to go with three assists.
In UO's win against Montana on Nov. 8, she carded a career-high five steals while handing out four assists without a turnover. In her UO debut on Nov. 3, Tuhina logged six assists without committing a turnover and has 13 assists against only one turnover on the season.
