Ducks Head to California for Two Matches

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon women's tennis team hits the road for the first time this season, as the Ducks visit UC Davis on Friday (1:30 p.m.) before a stop at Saint Mary's on Saturday (11 a.m.).

The Ducks are off to a 5-2 start, all at home, but have suffered two straight losses after a 4-1 defeat to Arizona State last Friday at the Student Tennis Center. Oregon clinched the doubles point against the Sun Devils, marking the sixth time in seven matches in which it has won the doubles point.
So far this spring, Oregon boasts a 22-1 combined singles record to go with a 14-5 doubles mark. Sophomore Tilde Jagare leads the team with a 6-0 singles record, while her and doubles partner Juliet Santitto are ranked at No. 80 in the ITA doubles rankings.
Freshman Patsy Daughters, playing at third singles, is 5-2 this spring. Seniors Marjorie Souza and Karin Young each have three singles victories, playing at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively.
UC Davis is 3-6 this spring and is coming off a 4-3 win at UC Irvine, while Saint Mary's has lost two straight and sits at 2-3.
Oregon is 2-0 against UC Davis all-time, last playing in 2020, while going 7-2 against the Gaels. Last season, the Ducks defeated Saint Mary's 5-2 in Eugene.
