
Kersten Signs Middle Blocker Kuskowski

Luana Kuskowski was Best Middle Blocker at the 2024 U20 South American Championships.
EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon volleyball head coach Trent Kersten continues to add to the Ducks' roster with the signing of Brazilian middle blocker Luana Kuskowski. She was the top-rated middle at the 2024 U20 South American Championships where she helped lead Brazil to a gold medal.

"Luana is an exciting addition to our program and the perfect person to finalize our roster for the 2025 season," Kersten said. "As a middle, she brings length, quickness and a strong presence at the net. The international experience and perspective she brings to our team will be invaluable and we're eager to help her develop into a dynamic force in the Big Ten."

Kuskowski and Brazil defeated Argentina, 3-2, to win the 2024 U20 South American Championships. She was awarded Best Middle Blocker for the tournament. Most recently, Kuskowski has been playing in the Brazilian Superliga with EC Pinheiros.

At the 2023 FIVB Girls' U19 World Championships, Kuskowski was third among all players with 27 blocks and helped lead Brazil to the quarterfinals. Her collection of medals with Brazil also included silver at the 2022 U19 Pan American Cup and 2022 U19 South American Championships.

Kuskowski becomes the third middle blocker and 12th newcomer overall to join the roster over the past two months. She is part of the UO middle group already including Holley McFadden and Iva Sucurovic. In full, the list of UO signees also features Marlee Arrington, Alanah Clemente, Orian Drore, Jillian McCarty, Sophia Meyers, Maria Tabacuks, Cora Taylor, Ksenija Tomic and Valentina Vaulet.
