East Coast Trip Continues For Lacrosse
04/10/26 | Women's Lacrosse
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Oregon lacrosse team will continue its East Coast trip this weekend as the Ducks square off with Rutgers on Sunday in their final road contest of the regular season.Â
Oregon (6-8) will make its second trip to SHI Stadium and first as members of the Big Ten Conference. Rutgers (9-5) won a nonconference showdown in Piscataway in 2024 before pulling out a 10-6 victory in Eugene last season. Oregon will technically have a break from its streak of six consecutive ranked opponents, though the Scarlet Knights are receiving votes and are currently the first team just outside the IWLCA top 25.Â

Big Ten Brings Big Competition
The Ducks have faced a challenging spring slate with each of their last six contests coming against teams ranked in the IWLCA top 25. That stretch began with a showdown with the current No. 1 team in the nation in Maryland, which Oregon played tough in a 15-7 loss while the Terrapins were ranked No. 3. That effort was anchored by a hat trick from Gabby Santucci and a gritty performance in the cage from Francesca Viteritti, who anchored a defense that caused 15 turnovers. Oregon also had matchups with No. 11 Northwestern, No. 25 Ohio State, No. 5 Michigan, No. 9 Johns Hopkins and No. 18 Penn State. The Ducks are coming off their two best offensive outputs in conference play, scoring nine goals against both Johns Hopkins and Penn State. Santucci led the way against the Blue Jays with her third four-goal performance of the season, and Lexi Jenkins notched her first career hat trick on Thursday against the Nittany Lions.Â
