04/30/26 | Track and Field
The Ducks are set to compete in three meets over the next two days.
EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon track and field team begins a busy month of May with a trio of meets this weekend beginning Friday with competition at the Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford and the OSU High Performance meet in Corvallis. The Ducks are also sending their sprints, jumps and throws groups to Tucson, Ariz., for Saturday's Desert Heat Classic.
Â
After becoming the No. 4-6 UO performers at 10,000 meters in earlier this season, the distance trio of Evan Bishop, Evan Burke and Luke Tewalt will run in the invitational section of the 5,000 (9:39 p.m.) at the Payton Jordan meet. Connor Burns is also entered in what will be his outdoor debut for Oregon.
Â
Tewalt has the fastest lifetime best of the group with a 13:28.18 from last season at Wake Forest.
Â
The UO women also have Stanford entries Friday night with Dalia Frias and Ella Thorsett running in the fast section of the 5,000 meters. It will be their first go at the distance this season after competing over 1500 meters at the Oregon Team Invitational.
Â
Closer to home, the Ducks have Ben Greene and Landen LeBlond entered in invitational sections of the men's and women's 1500 meters at the OSU High Performance. The men's race is scheduled for Friday at 7:30 p.m. followed directly by the women.
