Ma’ake Named Big Ten Player of the Week

EUGENE, Ore. – After leading No. 11 Oregon to its 16th consecutive series win, Stefini Ma'ake has been named Big Ten Player of the Week. It is her first conference player of the week award.
Ma'ake, a sophomore from San Diego, hit .636 (7-of-11) with a double, two home runs and eight RBI as Oregon took the weekend series at No. 5 UCLA two-games-to-one. She also slugged 1.273.
In game one against the Bruins, Ma'ake hit two home runs and had four RBI in Oregon's 8-2 win.
In game two, she went 4-for-5 and her fourth inning, two-RBI double broke a 6-6 tie and put Oregon in the lead for good.
It was Oregon's first series win at UCLA since 2015.
The series win clinched the No. 2 seed for the Big Ten Tournament. The Ducks will face either No. 7 Wisconsin or No. 10 Purdue Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time in College Park, Md.
