Helped lead the Kauai Menehunes to a 22-17 record and second-place finish in the Hawaii Collegiate Baseball League regular season standings… finished the summer as the 14th-ranked prospect in the league according to PerfectGame Crosschecker...named to the 2009 HCBL All-Star Team…finished his summer with the Menehunes batting .327 with a league-leading .504 slugging percentage…added 23 runs scored, 20 RBIs, eight doubles, three triples and two home runs…was walked 15 times and had a .415 on-base percentage.
AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN | 2009
A part-time starter the majority of the season in right field and at designated hitter...came on extremely strong late in the year, starting the final 12 games of the season...during that stretch led the starters batting .300 (12-for-40) with seven extra-base hits (6 doubles, 1 triple), five runs scored, four RBIs, two walks and a .500 slugging percentage...reached safely in each of those 12 starts, while hitting safely in 11...on the year, appeared in 34 games and made 26 starts (14 right field, 12 DH)...hit .258 (23-for-89) with 12 extra-base hits (8 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs) and a team-leading .461 slugging percentage...also scored 12 runs and added 10 RBIs...against Pac-10 opponents improved his average to .271 (13-for-48) with seven runs, six doubles, one triple, five RBIs, three walks, and a .438 slugging percentage...hit .750 with runners on third and less than two outs, and posted a .526 success rate advancing runners....in his first at-bat of the season, went down in history by smoking the first Oregon home run out of PK Park on March 1 vs. #15 Fresno State...propelled Oregon to a 6-4 over victory Sacramento State (03/25) by hitting his second home run of the season, a three-run shot.

HIGH SCHOOL
A 2007 graduate of Churchill High School in Eugene, Ore...played four seasons of baseball for head coach Erik Hoberg...during his career with the Lancers was named first team all-state after batting .583 as a senior.
