OREGON ? Comprehends a greater understanding of the required commitment needed to be successful at the Division I level after being in the program for more than one year. Yet a lack of optimal health has proven to be a barrier for him to perform at his best since his ?06 spring arrival. Limited to fewer than 15 spring practices a year ago before missing the entire 2007 spring due to rehabilitation of 2006 injuries. His biggest asset continues to the speed that every team craves, offering glimpses of his explosive potential that could make him a game-breaker. Is very intelligent in terms of his knowledge of the game yet needs to overcome the obstacles that have prevented him from gaining experience on the field. Also competed on school’s track team in 2006, running the third leg on the 4x100 relay that won its first Pac-10 title ever (39.74) and finished seventh in the NCAA meet.
2006 ? A two-year layoff from the game and injuries took their toll as has first season was limited to four games and one catch for nine yards (at Arizona State). Took part in 27 snaps against the Sun Devils as he was unable to take to the field for the last six contests.
HIGH SCHOOL ? One of 2003’s fastest prep football players in the country attracted near-unanimous All-America acclaim from the likes of SuperPrep and PrepStar following his senior season. The first-team Best in the West (Long Beach Press-Telegram) honoree hauled in 49 catches for 930 yards (19.0 avg.) and scored 11 touchdowns in 2003, including three scores returning kickoffs and punts. Led the Jackrabbits to the CIF Division I championship contest his final prep campaign. His junior year was just as impressive, converting 39 receptions into 1,479 yards (37.9 avg.) and 16 TDs (not including five additional scores coming via kickoff returns). Also enjoyed success on the track, with the state sprint champion claiming the 200-meter title at the 2004 California state meet (21.10). Boasted personal prep bests of 10.44 (100) and 20.97 (200).
