2006-07
A productive senior season could be a key to Oregon’s success. An aggressive rebounder with eye-popping leaping ability. Worked on improving his jumper for a more well-rounded game. Runs the floor well. Has played in 37 straight games dating back to his sophomore season, the longest active streak on the team.
2005-06
One of only two players to appear in all 33 games last season (Brandon Lincoln was the other). Started 13 games, including all three in the Pac-10 tournament. Averaged 3.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. Had nine points Nov. 26 versus Rice. Breakout game of the season came Dec. 17 with career highs in points (13) and rebounds (7). Scored 11 points with seven boards against Portland. Netted 12 points in Jan. 12 win versus Arizona State.
2004-05
Suffered a severely sprained right ankle during a Nov. 17 practice and missed all but 12 games. Averaged 1.2 points and 1.0 rebounds per game. Saw first action of the season Jan. 8 versus Oregon State. Scored a career-high nine points with three rebounds in Feb. 10 overtime loss to Washington. Had a bucket Jan. 27 at California. Season-best five rebounds in home win against Washington State.
2003-04
Season numbers were just 1.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 7.3 minutes per game. But in March, he noticeably asserted himself and those numbers nearly doubled to 2.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 11.6 minutes per game. Saw action in 24 contests. Season high of 19 minutes played versus Santa Clara was his only double-figure minutes game until March. Scored five points with four rebounds in that game. Three points and four rebounds in Pac-10 tournament semifinal versus Stanford. Season-high seven points and five rebounds in NIT second round win against George Mason. Had season-high six rebounds in NIT semifinal versus Michigan.
2002-03
Redshirt season.
Before Oregon
Averaged 14.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per game as a senior in earning all-CIF Division 2A first team honors at Redondo Union High School. Coached by Tom Maier, he led his team to a 24-7 record in 2001-02 as Redondo Union advanced to the Southern California regional semifinals. As a junior, averaged 17 points, nine rebounds and six blocks per game as Redondo went 28-1. Won four consecutive Bay League titles at Redondo Union. Respected recruiting analyst Bob Gibbons ranked him among his top 100 seniors nationally. “(Zahn) has nice size and a good touch from the perimeter,” wrote Bob Gibbons All Star Report correspondent Rob Matera. “He’s a hard worker and a solid weakside rebounder...has some potential as a combo forward because of his ability to shoot the ball.” Other recruiting services took notice as well. FansOnly.com gave him a rating of “super prospect.” Hoop Scoop ranked him as the 17th-best player in California. Prepspotlight.com ranked him among the top 40 power forwards in the nation. During the summer of 2001, Prep West Hoops listed Zahn fourth among “rising power forwards” on the West Coast.
