2007
One of the team’s pinch hitters, appeared in 29 games with 13 starts. Slowed by a back injury the majority of the season, but still threw out four of the 15 opposing base stealers ? second-most on the team. Her .986 fielding mark was tops among Duck catchers. Played 16 games off bench ? fourth-most on team overall. Led Duck signal-callers at the plate offensively and three of her 11 hits were for extra bases. Had hits in three straight games as a starter in the first tourney of the season and went 3-7 that weekend, including 2 RBIs in 8-1 win vs. Syracuse. Also had hits in consecutive games two weeks later vs. Siena (1-3, 1 run, walk) and San Diego State (1-3). Add pinch hit double at home March 17 vs. Towson for an RBI, and a week later went 2-4 as a starter vs. Utah Valley State with another double and 2 RBI. In Pac-10 play had pinch hit RBI single in 6-5 win vs. Oregon State that clinched Civil War Cup for frist time since 204. Also had pinch hit vs. California in season finale.
2006
The freshman catcher had six hits and two RBI in limited action as a backup to starter Amie Morris. Did not see the field until March 26 against Akron, where she scored her only run of the season. Shlee drove in a run against top-ranked UCLA on April 22. Her only multi-hit game of the season came against No. 8 Oregon State when she went 2-for-2 on April 26. Shlee’s RBI double against Arizona State on March 31 tied the score at 1-1 in the second inning, but the Sun Devils went on to win 2-1. Defensively, Shlee threw out four of 10 base stealers, accounting for half the base stealers caught by Oregon catchers all season. She committed only one error.
HIGH SCHOOL
Shlee, a four-year starter at Sunrise Mountain High School in Phoenix, Ariz., was a 2004 all-state honorable mention as Sunrise won the state 5A championship. Shlee plays for the Li’l Saints club team, is a four-time golden glove honoree and was the MVP of her 14 U team.
