Elisabeth Blackwell
- Title:
- Volunteer Assistant Coach
Elisabeth Blackwell joined the Oregon coaching staff on January 21, 2020 as a volunteer assistant coach after spending the 2019 season as an assistant coach at Fresno State.
Â
"We are thrilled to have Elisabeth join our staff and the Duck lacrosse family," said Gamble Hoffmann. "Her experience and knowledge of the game will bring a new edge to our defensive unit."
Â
Blackwell worked primarily with the defenders and goalkeepers at Fresno State, where she helped the Bulldogs' goalies recorded a program-record 192 saves, while goalie Laurel Maunder set a school single-season record with 181 saves. The Bulldogs also had a pair of defenders earn All-MPSF honors under Blackwell's tutelage.
Â
Prior to her stint at Fresno State, Blackwell spent two years as an assistant coach at Gardner-Webb, where she helped senior Amanda Steinmuller to a 39-goal year and freshman Talen Francis to a program freshman record for scoring with 44 points. She spent one year as a volunteer assistant coach at Louisville, helping lead the Cardinals to the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
Â
Blackwell played her sophomore through senior seasons at Stetson, where she started 43 games throughout her career and was named a co-captain in 2015 as a senior. She also spent her freshman year at LIU-Brooklyn, where she started all 16 games in 2011. Blackwell graduated from Stetson in 2015 with a degree in biology. Â Â
