The University of Oregon volleyball program is excited to welcome back former great Kristen (Forristall) Rott as a volunteer coach for the 2010 fall season.
A letterwinner in both of her volleyball seasons for the Ducks, she ended her career ranked top 10 all-time for UO hitting categories for a career (second, .316) and season (fourth, .324, 2008; eighth, .305, 2007), and also stood eighth for UO all-time in block assists in a season (eighth, 113, 2008).
Her presence helped the Ducks advance to the NCAA regional in back-to-back seasons for the first time in school history. As a junior, she led the team in blocks (117, 1.04 blocks/set) and ranked second in hitting (.305), while as a senior, she ranked second in both hitting (.324) and blocks (120, 0.99 b/s).
After her graduation after the fall 2008 season, the business school graduate played for the basketball club team in Gotha, Germany in January-April 2009 and averaged a double-double and led the league in scoring. As a prep for Oregon City High School, the Gatorade state basketball player of the year led her team to three state championships and was a McDonald’s prep All-American.
She returned to Eugene in the fall of 2009 and served as a campus student services tutor in business, writing, arts and visual literacy, and also got married to Michael Rott.
As a graduate student in 2010-11, she will also attend the University of Oregon to complete her M.A. degree in the one-year curriculum and teaching program.
