HONOLULU, Hawaii -- Seven different Ducks scored goals, but the complete team effort would not be enough to defeat No. 3 John Hopkins, as the Oregon Lacrosse team lost the first-ever NCAA Women's Lacrosse match played in Hawaii, 15-7.
Scoring for the Ducks were Sophomores Jana Bradley, Cara Mead, Theresa Waldron and Erin Gaebe as well as Freshmen Ilsa van den Berg, Sarah McDonald, Alicia Burhart.
“It was an honor to play in the inaugural NCAA Women's Lacrosse match in Hawaii,” Coach Jen Larsen said. “We had great support from local fans of lacrosse as well as Duck fans.”
The lone assist of the game for the Ducks was from Alison Leiner on Cara Mead's second goal of the year.
“We're going to continue to challenge ourselves by playing top opponents.” Coach Larsen said. “We are taking a lot away from these games and trying to show that we can play with top competition.”
With the loss, the Ducks fall to 3-4 overall. Their conference record remains at 2-1.
The Ducks return home to Pape' Field to face the Ohio Bobcats on March 25th at Noon.
