
Ducks Shut Down Aggies 15-5

DAVIS, Calif. ? Oregon responded in commanding style on Sunday afternoon, defeating conference foe UC Davis, 15-5, at Aggie Stadium.
The Ducks improve to 1-1 on the year overall as well as the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, after suffering a heartbreaking 8-7 loss at Stanford on Friday night.
The Ducks had a 6-3 lead at halftime, after seniors Jen May and Lindsay Killian put Oregon ahead by two goals in the first four minutes of the contest. Before the 15-minute mark, the Ducks had a 4-1 advantage as freshman Anna Swicklik and junior Cara Mead added scores.
Junior goalkeeper Anna Popnyak totaled 11 saves on the afternoon, shutting out the Aggies for the game's final 20 minutes.
