CHICAGO – Freshman Marissa Everett has been invited to the U.S. Under-19 Women's National Team's third training camp, held at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. May 14-21. Everett participated in the second training camp, held in Davis, Calif., March 12-19.
The Canyon Lake, Calif.-native is one of 26 players to be invited to Chula Vista and Everett remains eligible to be selected for the national team that will participate in the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, held in November in Papua New Guinea.
“We're excited to see Marissa get invited back to the Youth National Team camp,” head coach Kat Mertz said. “She's a dynamic player who deserves to be on the national team. This is a great opportunity for her to play with some of the best players in the country and develop her skills.”
Everett is one of 15 collegiate players invited to the camp and one of five Pac-12 players. She is joined by Stanford's Tierna Davidson and Jordan DiBiasi, Washington's Shannon Simon and USC's Ally Prisock. Everett is the only forward from the Pac-12 to be invited.
In her first collegiate season last fall, Everett led Oregon in scoring as she found the back of the net four times with three of those goals being the game-winner. This spring, she has continued her outstanding play, scoring four goals in Oregon's four exhibition contests.
