Ducks Host Veteran Prairie View A&M Squad Monday Night

EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon continues the 2017-18 season by hosting Prairie View A&M Monday at 6 p.m. at Matthew Knight Arena (Pac-12 Networks). The Panthers opened the 2017-18 season with an 83-62 loss at Utah on Friday, but were only down eight at halftime. Prairie View returns top scorer Zachary Hamilton (15.1 ppg) among others from last season.

• 1 - With a win on Monday, Dana Altman will tie Oregon State legend Slats Gill for 34th in NCAA career Division I wins with 599.
• 2 - Oregon brings a nation-best 43-game home winning streak into Monday's game.
• 3 - Dana Altman needs two more wins to become the 34th NCAA Division I coach to reach 600 career wins all-time. He will become just the 10th active coach with 600 wins. The Ducks are 52-2 (.963) all-time in non-conference games at Matthew Knight Arena. Since a 79-73 loss to Mississippi on Dec, 7, 2014, Oregon has defeated 20 straight non-conference opponents at MKA. Oregon's only other non-conference loss at MKA came on Dec. 18, 2011, when Virginia defeated the Ducks 67-54. UO won 28 non-conference games in a row at MKA between the two losses.

Oregon's winning streak at Matthew Knight Arena is currently at 43 games, which is both the longest string of home wins in UO history, and the longest active home winning streak in the nation. Oregon last dropped a home game Jan. 8, 2015 (Arizona, 80-62). Two of Oregon's four longest home winning streaks have come under Dana Altman.

Dana Altman needs two more wins to become the 34th NCAA Division I coach to reach 600 career wins all-time. He will become just the 10th active coach with 600 wins. Altman is also currently one win behind Oregon State's Slats Gill, the namesake of Gill Coliseum, for 34th in all-time NCAA Division I coaching wins with 599.

In his first career start, senior Roman Sorkin scored a career-high 23 points to propel Oregon to a 70-54 win over Coppin State in the season opener Nov. 10 at Matthew Knight Arena in front of 7,232 fans. The Ducks clamped down defensively in the first half, forcing the Eagles to miss their first nine shots from the field. Oregon held Coppin State to just 4-of-28 shooting in the first half and 2-of-13 shooting from three-point range. Sorkin and freshman Troy Brown paced the Ducks offensively in the first half. The two combined for 30 of Oregon's fi rst half points as the Ducks led 42-14 at the break. Coppin State battled back in the second half, cutting the Ducks' lead to as little as 10 with 2:40 left to play and outscored Oregon 40-28 after halftime. Payton Pritchard was perfect from the fi eld in the second half shooting 3-for-3, scoring seven of his 10 points to give the Ducks enough offense to secure the win.
