Role Players Stepping Up Early
The Ducks entered 2019-20 with arguably the most established starting five in the nation, but Oregon's role players have made a big impact through the season's first two games. Taylor Chavez, starting this week for the absent Satou Sabally, went 6-of-9 from three-point range for a career-high 25 points in Wednesday's 109-52 win over Utah State, two days after Lydia Giomi scored a career-high 18 points with nine rebounds in Monday's season opener. Freshman Jaz Shelley also impressed Wednesday with 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

More Milestones for Ionescu, Hebard
Oregon's star senior duo of Sabrina Ionescu and Ruthy Hebard reached more impressive milestones in Wednesday's victory. Ionescu became the fourth Duck in program history to reach 2,000 career points while finishing one rebound shy of her 19th career triple-double (16 P, 12 A, 9 R), and Hebard surpassed 1,000 career rebounds in her second double-double performance (19 P, 15 R) in as many games. Ionescu also eclipsed 800 career assists in the victory.
Scouting Report: Texas Southern
Coming off a 15-15 season in 2018-19, the Tigers opened 2019-20 with a 71-44 win over UTRGV on Nov. 7 behind 28 points from graduate transfer Ciani Cryor and a double-double by Niya Mitchell (17 P, 14 R). Former USC star Cynthia Cooper-Dyke is in her second stint as head coach of the Tigers (2011-12) after going 70-56 in four seasons as the Trojans' head coach. As a team, the Tigers feature only five returnering letterwinners from last season's squad while bringing in nine newcomers and returning a pair of redshirts.
Hebard in Midseason Form
Ruthy Hebard has been unstoppable through the Ducks' first two games of the season, averaging 20.0 points and 13.5 rebounds per game while posting back-to-back double-doubles. Hebard led Oregon in Monday's season opener with 21 points and 12 rebounds before racking up 19 points and 15 rebounds on Wednesday against Utah State. Hebard now owns 41 career double-doubles, the fifth-most in program history and tied for the third most among active NCAA players. Hebard has gone 18-of-23 (.783) from the floor through the first two games, and she has also led the Ducks with five total blocked shots.
Ionescu Just Misses 19th Triple-Double
On a night where she surpassed 2,000 career points and 800 career assists, Sabrina Ionescu nearly hit another milestone in Wednesday's win over Utah State. The senior superstar finished with 16 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds, finishing one board shy of extending her NCAA all-time triple-double record to 19. Ionescu, who had an injury scare earlier in the game when she went to the floor after banging into a Utah State player, came out of the game with 1:58 left on the clock, though she would have preferred to finish it out. "Every time Sab comes out of the game, she grumbles," said head coach Kelly Graves. "Then she stands in my line of vision at all times, to get back in. That's just how she is. And thank God she's like that."
Minyon Will Pick Your Pocket
Graduate transfer Minyon Moore, a two-time Pac-12 all-defensive selection with USC, has made an immediate impact on the defensive end through her first two games as a Duck. Moore snatched three steals in Monday's season-opening win over Northeastern, and then racked up four steals on Wednesday against Utah State. Moore owns 228 career steals, the 11th most among active NCAA players. Offensively, Moore is averaging 9.0 points, 6.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds in two games with UO.

Record Book & Milestone Watch
» Sabrina Ionescu needs only 22 more assists to pass Jordin Canada (831, UCLA) as the all-time Pac-12 leader.
» Ionescu is just 11 made three-pointers away from breaking the Oregon all-time record (283, Lexi Bando, 2014-18).
» Ionescu is 42 points away from passing UO legend Bev Smith (2,063, 1978-82) for No. 3 in Oregon history.
» Ionescu needs one more double-double to move into a tie for No. 5 in Oregon history with Debbie Sporcic (40, 1990-94).
» Ruthy Hebard is 17 blocked shots away from passing Cathrine Kraayeveld (132, 2000-05) for No. 7 in UO history.
» Minyon Moore is 37 assists away from 500 for her career, and 22 steals away from 250.
» ERIN BOLEY needs nine more points to reach 500 as a Duck, and 70 more to reach 800 in her collegiate career.
