Homestand Begins Thursday vs Washington

EUGENE, Ore. – After a four-match road swing, the Oregon volleyball team returns to Matthew Knight Arena Thursday night to host No. 14 Washington. First serve is scheduled for 8 p.m. (PT) on the Pac-12 Networks. The home weekend also features a Sunday matchup with No. 24 Washington State.

About #14 Washington (17-5, 8-4 Pac-12)
Washington split a pair of home matches with the LA schools last weekend, falling to USC in five sets before sweeping UCLA on Sunday. Offensively, the Huskies are led by Kara Bajema who ranks fifth in the Pac-12 with 4.23 kills per set. As a team, UW is second in the league with 2.74 blocks per set. Three of the past four matches between Oregon and Washington have gone to five sets.
About #24 Washington State (19-5, 8-4 Pac-12)
Washington State enters the weekend with a home split against the LA school with a 3-1 win over USC in Pullman. The Cougars lead the Pac-12 in opponent hitting percentage (.164) and aces per set (1.47). Freshman Magda Jehlarova leads the conference with 1.53 blocks per set and ranks fifth with her .361 hitting percentage. The last five matches in the series have gone at least four sets.
That's a Record
With a third-set block at fifth-ranked Stanford (Nov. 3), SR MB Ronika Stone broke the Oregon career record for block assists. She teamed up with RFR MB Karson Bacon on the record-breaking play. Stone enters Thursday's match with 390 block assists in her career, one more than previous leader Neticia Enesi (2006-10). Stone also ranks fifth in UO history with 442 total blocks. The San Jose, Calf., native is seventh in program history with 1,467 points. Stone hit .400 with 3.71 kills per set last weekend in the Bay Area.
Doing It All
One year removed from a standout freshman campaign as the UO libero, SO OH Brooke Nuneviller has transitioned into one of Oregon's go-to attackers in 2019. She is second on the team and 10th in the Pac-12 with 3.15 kills per set. Nuneviller also ranks among the league's top 10 in digs per set (10th, 3.47) and aces per set (eighth, 0.27). Nuneviller also leads Oregon and is tied for second in the Pac-12 with 12 double-double performances. She put down 14 kills with 19 digs in the Ducks' 3-1 upset win at No. 20 Cal (Nov. 1).
Have a Night, Abby
RFR MB Abby Hansen tallied a season-high 13 kills to go along with five total blocks in the Ducks' 3-1 win at No. 20 Cal. She was one of three UO players in double figures. In the match, Hansen hit .571 (13-1-21) against Cal. She has four of more blocks in four of seven matches this season, including a season high six at Arizona (Oct. 27).
Last Time Out
Oregon fought off a pair of match points and had two set points of its own in the third before falling to No. 5 Stanford (Nov. 3) on the road. SR RS Willow Johnson and SO OH Brooke Nuneviller each had 11 kills in the match. SR MB Ronika Stone had nine kills including six in the third. She scored points in a row late in the third, two of which erased Stanford match points. Nuneviller reached double digits for the 14th time this year (eighth during Pac-12 play) while Johnson recorded double figures for the 13th time in 2019.
