11/08/19 | Women's Soccer
EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon athletics department announced Friday that Kat Mertz has resigned her position as head soccer coach effective immediately. Mertz recently completed her seventh season at the helm of the Ducks' soccer program, and a national search for her replacement is underway.
"We would like to thank Kat for all of her efforts with the Oregon soccer program," said Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens. "We appreciate all of her dedication and hard work toward elevating our program, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors."
Mertz's tenure ends with a 47-74-13 record, including a 5-9-5 mark in 2019. The Ducks finished 9-9-1 in 2018, marking the highest win total for the Oregon program since 2009. Mertz was originally named the fifth head soccer coach in Ducks history in December 2012.
Associate head coach Manny Martins will serve as interim head coach.
