Game 1 – Oregon 9, Utah 6
Taylor Adams crushed a go-ahead grand slam in the top of the ninth inning to give Oregon a 9-6 win in the first game of the doubleheader.
How it Happened: After Utah tied the game in the seventh inning, the Ducks scored five runs in the ninth to take a 9-4 lead. The Utes (7-15, 1-8 Pac-12) made things interesting in the bottom of the ninth, scoring a pair of runs to cut the lead to three, but Ryne Nelson was able to get out of it and leave the tying run in the on-deck circle.
Steer put the Ducks on the board first, delivering a two-out, two-run double to right center with the bases loaded in the third to score Cameron Campbell and Max Foxcroft. Utah responded with a run in the bottom half on a solo home run to make 2-1 after three innings.
The Utes knotted things up at three with a two-run fourth inning, but Oregon re-gained the lead with two runs in the seventh.
