Williams Breaks Program Record in Cal Loss

Senior attacker Shannon Williams became Oregon's all-time points record holder during the 12-7 loss to Cal on Friday night.
BERKELEY, Calif. – Senior attacker Shannon Williams became Oregon's all-time points leader by registering five points in the Ducks' 12-7 loss to California on Friday night to reach a record-breaking 221 career points
The senior captain surpassed Shannon Propst's (2011-14) previous record of 219 career points.
How It Happened: Williams opened up the game with a goal in the first four minutes, and Cal responded with a goal of its own. Freshman attacker Carlie Leach scored again for the Ducks, followed with another by Williams. The Golden Bears took control of the game with a 6-0 run to leave the Ducks trailing 7-3 at halftime.
Cal began the second half with four consecutive goals to extend its lead to 11-3 before midfielder Claire Domshick scored to end the streak. Williams assisted attacker Lillian Stump and scored two goals herself to close out the game behind Cal, 12-7.
Notables: Williams is the only Division I player in the country with at least five points in the first six games this season… Williams' four goals marked her 26th career hat trick…Freshman goalkeeper Rachel Hall's 19 saves set a new single game program record…Midfielder Gracyn Elliot had five of Oregon's nine draw controls.
