04/16/19 | Track and Field
EUGENE, Ore. – In a week scheduled to feature six meets, the Ducks get things started Wednesday with day one of the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. Focusing on the multi-event competitions, Oregon will be represented by Keira McCarrell in the heptathlon and Max Vollmer and Dalen Hargett entered in the decathlon.
Five of the six meets this week—full list below—take the Ducks to California for the Bryan Clay meet, Mt. SAC Relays in Torrance, two meets in Long Beach and the Cardinal Classic hosted by Stanford.
"The way our schedule is set up is to go to a lot of warm-weather places," head coach Robert Johnson said. "If you look at the end of our season and work back, where do we end up? We're in Texas for the national meet in June. We're trying to prepare our kids…those are some of the nuances that went into putting this schedule together."
