The measure was also good for the No. 2 mark in program history.
The Ducks went 2-for-2 with Nizich and VanVuren in the javelin. For Nizich, he'll be making his third-career appearance at the NCAA Championships after a day's best of 68.13m/223-6 to finish sixth in the field. All three of VanVuren's marks—best of 67.45m/221-3—would have been enough to qualify for his first NCAA appearance.
Oregon's 400-meter trio of DesRosiers (51.72), D'Arpino (52.22) and Waller (52.50) were all in the top three of their respective heats to advance to the national meet. With her time, D'Arpino lowered her personal best and became the No. 9 all-time performer in UO history. DesRosiers, the second-fastest qualifier, posted a lifetime-best effort of her own.
In back-to-back events, the Men of Oregon picked up three NCAA qualifiers between Gillespie and Palmer at 100 meters and Emilien at 400 meters. As he was in Thursday's first round, Gillespie was the top overall qualifier with his time of 10.03 in heat two. Palmer, running in that same heat, crossed in third place (10.28) as an automatic qualifier.
Emilien, the Pac-12 champion, finished fourth in heat two but his personal-best time of 45.52 was the fastest at-large performance of the day. He entered the meet with a previous best of 45.91 from his victory two weeks ago at the conference meet.
In the quarterfinals of the women's 100 meters, Duncan used a personal best of 11.23 to advance to the NCAA Championships. She finished second in her heat and sixth overall. Duncan lowered her lifetime best from the 11.27 she ran at North Carolina. With her time Friday, she became the No. 8 performer in program history.
The Women of Oregon secured their final qualifier of the day with Ejore's effort in heat one of the 800 meters. The two-time NCAA champion in the DMR pulled away from the field over the final 100 meters, crossing in 2:03.96 for the win. This will be her first appearance at the NCAA outdoor meet.
Harvey was the Ducks' final qualifier of the day, finishing third in the opening heat of the semifinals. He crossed the line in 50.55 to earn his first individual appearance at the NCAA Championships. Harvey was a member of Oregon's 4x400-meter relay at last year's national meet.
The women carded another pair of top-10 program marks from Robinson in the first round of the 100-meter hurdles and Amanda Gehrich in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Robinson was third in her heat with a lifetime best of 13.12; she had a season-best 13.46 entering the weekend. In a near miss in the steeple, Gehrich took more than 10 seconds off her personal best in 10:00.25 to finish 13th, just over a second out of the qualifying spots.
